As a former small business owner, and the daughter of a small business owner, Amy understands the challenges faced in opening and operating a business. Those challenges range from start-up costs, compliance with regulations, and building relationships in the community.
Amy's plan for Sumner includes building relationships with our business community to foster collaboration and transparency. Through collaboration between the business community and Sumner government, Amy will streamline communication and regulations to make it easier to build and operate a business in Sumner.
Impact Fees
Impact fees assessed by the City on new development and changes of use provide a valuable source of funds for improving public infrastructure to offset negative effects of development. While this is necessary for maintaining our community's quality of life, impact fees have a outsized impact on small businesses seeking to call Sumner home. Amy will work with City leadership on behalf of our small business community to ease this burden and help businesses grow in Sumner.
